Seeing what is

Sand behaves according to reliable physical laws. We do not take it personally when dry sand refuses to stay put in the form of a sand castle. We say, “That’s the way it is with dry sand.”

We are not as enlightened regarding the laws of being for humans. We take ourselves very personally. We assume there is no higher law that governs reality when it comes to ourselves. We believe we must take responsibility, and we exert our personal will on ourselves and our loved ones.

When we can discern the underlying law operating in our lives, we can more easily refrain from interfering and let others live and learn. We can convey a sense of confidence in ourselves and others. Silently discerning the truth, otherwise known as prayer, creates a wholesome environment for growth.

So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” Romans 12:5
